Adrian Samson

Limited

Inanimate objects is the eternal theme of Adrian's photography. Through the unique lighting skills and an obvious reference from paintings, he gives the still life photography a picturesque color texture. Adrian from movies and find inspiration in everyday life, obsessed with the detail of the image. His still life work is quite conceptual. It is not a case study, more like a structure one, ofter levitating or simply scattered on the table. They, more like abstract art, seem to contain a whole movie story.

Adrian Samson

Adrian Samson was born in 1974 in Slovakia. After living and working for years in the Caribbean, the United States and Canada, he finally settled in London in 2004 and founded his own studio. Greatly inspired by movies and everyday life, Adrian is obsessed with image details as line, form and light. His rich life experience and complicated cultural background lead to a discomfortable aesthetics mirrored by unique application of color and composition in his works, which make the viewers feel difficult to accurately define his style.

Adrian's photography works ingeniously balance the commercial and the art. He has been constantly cooperated with fashion houses like Hermès, Miu Miu and COS. At the same time, he has won numerous international photography prizes, including IPA International Photography Awards, SONY World Photography Awards (2011), PX3 International Photography Gold Prize (2009), etc. Adrian has also exhibited his works internationally, including at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
