Florence Le Blanc's work “Fragmented recollections” explores the relations between time, memory and architecture. Much like vague memories, the places that dwell within us are punctuated by voids. Some of these voids are filled by the imagination, other are left in a fragmentary state, present despite their incompleteness, like ruins. Using the camera in the manner of a sculptor attempting to mould the entirety of predefined space, she makes use of photography as a construction material. The subject, isolated from its former architectural context, plays a new spatial role: its initial state, sublimated by a surreal representation, takes on a poetic quality. As it takes the form of a precious miniature or a profuse photographic flora, Florence Le Blanc constructs her images as objects of passage between time and vision.
