The main focus of this project is exploring the great discoveries and inventions occurred during the early 20th century. My fantasy of the unimaginable major impact of those new discoveries and inventions, no matter on obscure scientific topics or just everyday life sparkles, drives me to research and reimagine the era. Most things people taking for granted today were not perceived in the same way when they were first introduced. Looking back to different parts of history closely, I find it's hard to justify our perception of objects from the past-- some become classic while some others are considered outdated. Through making mock-ups of the invention/discovery as either photography installation or stand-alone pieces, and also implementing my imagination into some archive images, I try to establish and examine the connection between the past and present.
